My light switch 'zaps' when turning lights on

The 'zap' or 'splatt' is caused by arching in the switch mechanism. Arching light switches can be caused by a number of problems including overloaded circuits. Flourescent light fittings can also cause arching if the incorrect switch mechanism is used.

Have Electricians Plus and ITELEC check the problem and rectify it if necessary.
